Oceanico Group is one of the leading property developers and golf operators in Portugal. The Group consists of Oceanico Developments, Oceanico Golf and Oceanico Resorts & Leisure. In 2007, Oceanico expanded its operations into the USA with the acquisition of a golf resort in the Pinehurst area of North Carolina with a view to replicating its European success.

Oceanico Developments established in 2000 is the market leader in high-quality property developments in Portugal from the Algarve to the Silver Coast. The company specialises in creating luxury four- and five-star properties for the holiday home and relocation and markets. Currently, Oceanico Developments manages a property portfolio that includes planned, under construction and completed developments in the Algarve towns of Praia da Luz, Lagos, Silves, Vilamoura; Óbidos on Portugal's Silver Coast; and the Pinehurst region of North Carolina, USA.

Oceanico Resorts & Leisure offers outstanding self-catering accommodation at its wide range of luxurious Oceanico resorts and provides the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun, whether it's a fantastic family holiday, a golf break or just somewhere to escape the winter blues. In addition, it delivers a first class property management and rental service exclusively for Oceanico property owners and operates the resorts' restaurants and leisure amenities, including health & beauty and sports facilities.

Oceanico Golf is a major player in the luxury golf tourism market in Portugal, with a portfolio of eight championship golf courses, Oceanico Golf, founded in 2006, oversees the management and operation of the courses. This currently includes the five renowned courses in Vilamoura (Oceanico Victoria, Oceanico Old Course. Oceanico Pinhal, Oceanico Millennium and Oceanico Laguna), and the two recently opened Oceanico Faldo and Christy O'Connor Jnr. courses at Amendoeira. Oceanico Golf will also manage the Group's new Royal Óbidos golf resort, which will feature a course designed by Severiano Ballesteros.

Oceanico has further strengthened its position within this marketplace with the appointment of Troon Golf, the luxury golf club management company, to manage all of its five star golf resorts.

Oceanico's Beach Resorts
Oceanico launched its first development, Jardim da Meia Praia, in 2002 which was completed in 2004. This fabulous resort located on the edge of Lagos comprises a mix of 44 three-bedroom apartments and 22 two- and three-bedroom townhouses, with on-site facilities including a swimming pool, tennis court and restaurant.

Estrela da Luz opened in March 2005, offering luxury accommodation in the traditional Algarve resort of Praia da Luz. The 146 apartments are in a prime location close to bars and restaurants, shops and the fabulous sandy beach. The resort also offers great on-site facilities including three swimming pools; restaurants; state-of-the-art gym; health and beauty centre; and a multi-purpose sports area including an all weather surface for tennis, basketball and football.

Vila Baía a luxury development in Praia da Luz, was launched in 2008. Located less than 200 metres from the beach, Vila Baía is designed with a Roman feel to reflect the history of the area. The properties comprise a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments and three bedroom linked villas. Facilities include two large swimming pools, a children's pool and playground, a multi-purpose sports pitch, a tennis court and an Italian restaurant.

Due to open in 2009, Belmar Spa & Beach Resort is set overlooking the stunning Porto de Mós beach between Lagos and Praia da Luz. This luxury resort will feature a five star health & beauty spa along with a gymnasium, aerobics studio, hydrotherapy pool, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurants and bars. The 189 residences comprise one, two and three bedroom apartments, two bedroom townhouses and an apart-hotel with exclusive spa bedroom suites.

Oceanico's Golf Resorts

Amendoeira Golf Resort is one of the finest golf resorts in Europe. Set in an area of outstanding beauty and with the glorious backdrop of the Monchique mountains, the award-winning resort comprises of luxury villas, apartments and leisure areas overlooking the two championship golf courses, one designed by Nick Faldo and the other by Christy O' Connor Jnr. There is also a wide range of leisure facilities available at the Amendoeira Sports Club comprising two lawn bowling greens (one flat and one crown); tennis courts; a full size football pitch; gymnasium; two five-a-side pitches anda beach volleyball/football pitch.

Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort is located 5 minutes from the beach and marina complex and close to all five of Oceanico's Vilamoura golf courses. The 170 acre site will comprise a mix of luxurious two and three bedroom apartments and four and five bedroom villas. The central feature of the resort will be the stunning landscaped gardens created by celebrity landscape designer Diarmuid Gavin which will mirror the Moorish theme of the architecture. Other on-site facilities and amenities will include restaurants, bar, gym, outdoor pools, children's play areas, kids' club and convenience store.

In December 2007 Oceanico acquired its first resort outside of Portugal, Little River Golf & Resort in North Carolina, USA. Located close to the beautiful Pinehurst area the resort boasts a Dan Maples-designed 18-hole golf course, a luxurious clubhouse with restaurant and pub-style bar and outdoor swimming pool. The development will comprise of single family homes, condos, cottage homes, a hotel & spa and a senior living area. Onsite facilities will include restaurants, bars, swimming pools, tennis courts and retail areas.

Oceanico Group is owned by Gerry Fagan and Simon Burgess. Simon is a qualified quantity surveyor, and was a director at Charles Church, prior to setting up his own UK development company. He moved to Portugal in 1999 and was introduced to Gerry Fagan in 2000. Gerry worked for Ireland's Campbell Bewley Group for over 25 years prior to moving into property development, and relocating to Portugal in 1999.
